Sinan Onur Altınuç is a Head of Perception, AI at Büyütech with a passion for artificial intelligence and human intelligence. He has extensive experience working as a software engineer, academic researcher, and data scientist/ML Engineer. Currently, he is responsible for Machine Learning team and research projects of OBSS, including autonomous vehicles, NLP, Computer Vision, and data science solutions. Sinan believes that the success of an AI team is determined by capable and curious individuals that have respect for each other regardless of experience level, backed by a strong drive to learn and share. His current fields of interest include Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Big data/data engineering, Representational Learning, Sub-symbolic, Neural systems, and Cognitive Sciences. He believes that understanding current learning algorithms combined with the study of human intelligence (cognitive science) is the key to creating the future of artificial intelligence and understanding our own intelligence as humans. Sinan has studied Computer Engineering at Hacettepe University and completed his master's degree there. He is currently a doctorate student at METU Cognitive Sciences Department. He has worked as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer (Team Lead) at OBSS, responsible for ML and research projects, including autonomous surface vehicles, computer vision, and NLP projects and customer-specific solutions. He has also worked as a Senior Data Scientist at Unscrambl, where he took part in the development process of 'Drive,' Unscrambl's solution for Marketing Automation using big data streaming and real-time analytics. He was responsible for adapting the product for banking solutions and its analytics. Sinan's education history includes a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Cognitive Science from Middle East Technical University, an MSc in Computer Engineering from Hacettepe University, and a BSc in Computer Engineering from Hacettepe University. He also completed his high school education from Samsun Fen Lisesi. His tech stack includes AI, ML, Research Scientist, Computer Vision, Data Scientist, NLP, Big Data, Data Engineering, Deep Learning, and Software Engineering. With 4.87 years of relevant experience, Sinan is a highly skilled professional who is passionate about the future of artificial intelligence and its impact on human intelligence.
